Small Groups
As this church grows larger it must also grow smaller

Testimonies About Small Groups
"Small Groups to me are like having an extended family.  You get to know these people and they get to know you.  It's a place you can go and share your troubles with, a place where you can laugh together and cry together.  You can be yourself and not worry what someone might think about you!  I love the people in my small group and pray for them everyday."

- Jean Fisher

"Rachel heard about Sonrise on the radio way back in November of 1999 and we went to the first and second services at the Holiday Inn in Johnson City. Since that time we just kept coming and very soon we decided to join the Church. Sonrise has been a tremendous blessing to us in many ways. At Sonrise there is a tremendous focus to get the message out to all people regardless of their social, ethnic or economic background or religious persuasion, or lack thereof. We never really grasped the message of Christ until we began attending Sonrise."

– Todd and Rachel Roy

HOW?

Regulars at Sonrise Church have heard me say this again and again, urging them to join a small group. I repeat it because I believe the fellowship in a small group is vital for everyone to connect to a family that really cares about life’s most difficult and painful struggles and growth as a Christian or to become a Christian.

WHY?

We at Sonrise are not alone in this belief. In fact, reliance on small groups dates back to the earliest days of the Christian church, when Christians who had actually walked with Jesus Christ gathered together to support each other and grow in their faith and reached out to the unchurched. For 2,000 years, this tradition has strengthened and nourished believers, as it still does today at our church.

WHAT?

The strength of our commitment to small groups is reflected in the resources we have put behind this essential ministry. Our goal is to develop groups of every kind at Sonrise. Right now there are Bible study groups for young and old, single and married, new Christians and long-time believers. We hope to soon have groups designed to lend support to people with special needs like illnesses, sorrows or addictive behaviors.

WHO?

We've made it so easy to discover one of God's great gifts: the miraculous warmth, friendship and fellowship of having a family through a Sonrise small group. Anyone can come and be a part of a small group – you don’t have to be a member of our church, that’s just extra benefits.

WHEN?

Give us a call and we will tell you all about the groups that are currently meeting and new groups that may be forming. You will find out why I will not rest until every person at Sonrise is a member of a small group.
